Writing Spanish Papers

!±8± Writing Spanish Papers

When learning a foreign language, one of the most difficult things to have to do is write a paper. Whether you are just beginning to learn the language or you have studied it for many years the task certainly has its challenges. Luckily there are some very good resources on the internet that can help you out in any situation.

Because Spanish is such a popular language (over 350 million people speak it fluently worldwide) there are a number of ways to get assistance with writing papers. One of the ways is to go to a website that has automated word translation. This is quick, easy, and usually free. One big drawback, however, is that it will only translate single words or short phrases. It will not translate an entire paper. And the ones that claim to be able to do this turn out a very low quality product with many grammatical errors. Not something you want if you want a good grade or are looking to impress your boss!

What about high quality translation?
Another, much higher quality option is to have the papers actually translated by a human being. The quality of the translation you will receive will impress anyone who reads the article - particularly if you are using a native Spanish speaking translator. When you need a paper translated that needs to be of high quality, this is really the only option you have.

Now I must warn you that this can be a fairly pricey undertaking, depending on which service you are going with. But there are some things to look for that can help keep your costs limited:

* Avoid services that charge by the hour. This seems to always be a good way to ensure that you will be paying too much for your translated document.

* Look for services that charge by the word count. This allow you to hold the company accountable for the amount they are charging. For example if there are 250 words in your essay you will know exactly what the charges should be.

* Make sure to pick a company that can do the translation through email. Avoid services that want a personal consultation or for you to ship them the documents. This can be a waste of money on consultation fees and shipping costs.

Learn from the experience
Although you may be writing your paper or presentation in English and then having someone else translate it for you, there is still a big opportunity to learn from this experience. I often advise students that are studying Spanish to try to translate themselves and then compare it to the professionally translated document. This allow you to compare and contrast the two versions and then hopefully learn from your mistakes.
